Meet the FECC people

MRS JUNE RODGERS

Mrs June Rodgers runs the kiosk at Footscray Edgewater Cricket Club which opensjune rodgers 2 every game day at 11am.

June has been working at the Footscray Cricket Club now Footscray Edgewater Cricket Club for more than 25 years and is a valued member of the support staff who work tirelessly for the club.

June is there every game from 11am until around 6-7pm. She also opens the Kiosk for the Dowling Shield Competition during January and also for the 'Country Week' competition. June has also worked the kiosk on Melbourne Cup Day. She assists in the organisation of the players lunches ... collecting orders, writing up lunch bags and collecting the money each game day.

June comes along to the club to assist on 'selection nights' where a meal is cooked and served for the players, committee and support staff. June never misses the reading of the teams.   

June Rodgers was made a Life Member of the Footscray Edgewater Cricket Club in 2005.

 

MR MICHAEL O'SULLIVAN

Michael was appointed FECC Coach in Season 2005/2006des osullivan 100

FOOTSCRAY EDGEWATER CRICKET CLUB is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael O'Sullivan as coach of the Club for the next two seasons. Michael comes to the club with an outstanding cricket resume'.
His credentials are of an extremely high standard and Michael would arguably be one of the most sought after coaches in the state.

Michael brings an array of skills and years of coaching experience. He played over 200 games of District cricket with Northcote and has been involved in two 1st X1 District Premierships as both player and coach.

For the past 8 seasons Michael has been an integral part of the Victorian Bushrangers; Senior coach, assistant coach, selector and in recent times Chairman of Selectors and was a key factor in the Bushrangers success of 2003/2004.

'It is a privilege to be trusted with the role of leading the FECC as coach. I see it as a great opportunity to be part of a vibrant, dynamic and progressive organisation. There is also an exciting group of emerging young talent that is gaining the respect of the competition and I very much look forward to working with them and assisting the club in becoming a strong, sustainable and successful organisation both on and off the field.'

MR ARTHUR DAY

FECC record wicket holder Mr Arthur Day returned to Merv Huges Oval last season - and wasted no time in joining the committee.Arthur has shown a keen interest in all the bowlers and is regularly seen at training ... at times he is seen sharing his knowledge with the players.

Arthur attends most games. Whether it be 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th X1 he lends his support to all the players and is a valued member of our club.

Arthur and his wife Maria also attend social functions held at the club ... and had a terrific time at our Trivia Night.
 


  
MR JAMES W MANN
A Cricket Victoria Pin presented by Mr. Graeme Joslin, FECC Committee member,  to Mr. James W Mann for his 50 years service to cricket as a player, administrator and member of the Footscray Cricket Club.

Nickname:  Silver   Mansa
Jim at age 20 started playing for Footscray Cricket Club in the last round of the 1948/49 season against his old club South Melbourne. He made 65no.

Jim has worn many hats at the club including; Dowling Shield Coach 1958 - 1972, Captain 1st X1 1966/67, Coach 1965 - 1969, President 1977 - 1985 FCC won Premiership 1979/80.
Jim has had various roles in cricket over the years which include: Delegate - Vctorian Cricket Association    Penant Committee - VCA    Board Member - VCA     Director - Australian Cricket Board - a highlight during this term was organising the World Cup .. Pakistan def England 1992.
  
Sue Bugge 

Sue Bugge (left in picture) is at the club every Saturday morning and some Sunday mornings to provide the wonderful lunches and morning teas at Footscray Edgewater Cricket Club. Sue is assisted each week by a number of volunteers; mums, wives, partners and friends of the players and committee. Sue is also found at the club on selection nights providing a meal for the players after training.

There is coffee and tea available to all visitors to the club and our canteen is open every game.
